Consumers today want to know the origins of their beef and more about how it was produced.  Their needs are simple.  They want a quality product that is safe and they can replicate time after time at their favorite beef counter. 

Texas Beef has developed the infrastructure to deliver this product. Texas Beef has determined the production applications and cattle types necessary for a quality eating experience. Leveraging that knowledge with a processing partner, Swift, is the foundation for a commercially successful source verified beef product.    

The importance of the selection criteria, handling processes and procedures and ration formulation are critical to a more consistent quality product. We believe by carefully managing the purchasing, grazing, feeding and processing of the beef animals that we can both improve the product and reduce the cost. Texas Beef has turned years of experience into a proprietary production system, turning out quality beef.

We will be combining the measurement of traditional beef characteristics with the development of new diagnostic tools for bringing increased red meat yield for the retailer and better taste for the consumer. The importance of these new and unique tools will be the mainstay of our program. We will be sharing this valuable proprietary information with our customers and suppliers across the production sectors, allowing for more informed and timely decision making affecting the value of our product.

Texas Beef and Swift will be developing secure databases regarding identifiers of value and that information will be shared across virtual private networks on the Internet to program participants. This information delivered in real time will provide participants with the ability to discover more value and quickly affect decisions critical to their bottom line.

Texas Beef believes the development of this beef program will provide the impetus for beef to regain market share by delivering more value on the production side and a more consistent taste for the consumer. We believe it is the first step in developing a truly differentiated product. The evolution of this program should offer an opportunity for Texas Beef to introduce a true branded beef product.
