Real Time Information

Time was when a report explain what had happened in the past. That time is gone and today's reports are informing you of what is happening now. You may want to see how much feed your cattle ate this morning or if the cowboys pulled any sick cattle today. All this information is available to you in real time. Log in to our customer link on the front page and open your world to real time information. You may prefer an email informing you of this morning's close out or receivings sent within minutes of the weigh up. Some of the information available to you includes the following:

  1. Projected Break Evens. After receiving your purchase weight and cattle cost (either market or actual) we will prepare our projected performance estimates. This is based on historical data but is reviewed by us. We can not guarantee this but only hope that it will serve you as a helpful tool. We also will be happy to run a projection for you on cattle you might feed with us, or you may run one from our web page. Information given to us by you is kept confidential.
  2. Check Weight. (Preliminary Close Out) This is an interim progress report and should give you some indication of the kind of performance to expect from your cattle. You will notice strong seasonal patterns. Please review this report with our yard personnel. We want you to interpret this report in a meaningful way that will allow both the customer and the yard to improve in the future.
  3. Open Lot Analysis. During the course of fattening your cattle for slaughter, we want you to be aware of some major areas affecting the performance.
  4. Consumption.  A good indication of the general well being of your cattle is the consumption pattern they develop while in the yard. This can be given to you upon request. It is available daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and cummulative.
  5. Rate of Gain. We maintain this in order to give you a current weight estimate. This is updated based on our historic data as well as seasonal factors that may affect the cattle.
  6. Current Break Evens.  The current total cost associated with this pen, including interest, and divided by the current weight will tell you the price at which the cattle must sell to return all your cost. We also can figure your current P/L in total dollars for each pen of cattle based on the current market.
  7. Equity Analysis. For those of you financing cattle with us, this gives you a current status report of your inventory value, equity, and current P/L projection.
  8. Close Outs.  Instead of the traditional cost of gain (deads out), we have presented the total gain cost and broken it down into its various components -- death loss, freight, medicine, etc.. Each segment can be analyzed to allow the positive and negative aspects of the gain to be studied. Our program calculates the entire interest figure on the cattle cost and feed cost. You will notice throughout our reports -- megacal/pound gained.
